On the 24th February, 2021, the third test match between India and England began in Ahmedabad and it was meant to be a thriller due to the match taking place in the largest cricket stadium in the world with a capacity of 110,000 but only 55,000 in attendance due to social distancing. The match was also a day-night test match meaning a pink ball was being used. Normally, you would see a test match last between 4-5 days however, this test match only lasted two. Not only was this suspicious because the pitch was heavily in favour of India which should not be the case because the groundsmen are meant to prepare even and neutral pitches. Many former England cricketers such as Michael Vaughan and Mike Atherton have criticised the pitch and Vaughan said "It's entertaining cricket as things are happening all the time but let's be honest this Pitch is a shocker," Vaughan tweeted. Joe Root ( one of England's best batsmen and Captain) took a 5fer and with him being a part time off spinner that makes it further suspicious. On top of those problems fans are taking to social media rightly criticsing the umpires for being biased towards India because there have been numerous incorrect decisions or decisions which have gone towards India with Indian umpires being used compared to the normal neutral umpires due to Covid 19. To make things even more suspicious this is the second test in a row where the match has been over within three days so that further raises suspicions and angers the English fans. Are England playing badly or does this need to be investigated further ?
