We are beyond the confusion of feminism…it’s there and should be accepted. But for some this may be hard to digest!

Take a step back for a minute. Before being wives, girlfriends, mothers, daughters and sisters they are human beings. They too have a voice, opinions, and aspirations. This cannot be masked by the label “woman”.

Think about your lives, your family and friends. How many strong and intelligent women surround you?

Look at Greta Thunberg for instance, a sixteen-year-old, seeking to stop global warming and climate change. This young activist shows us that gender doesn’t contribute towards the act you stand for.

If you have an opinion say it!

Women are not baby making machines, they are not to be ashamed off but to be celebrated like men, for their resilience, determination and intelligence. Women can be major economic drivers whilst being brainy and beautiful. It is not a crime to do so. It’s upsetting and unfortunate that not all countries have the same understanding about women, but further disheartening to know that this will take a long period of time to achieve.

Women can do it and will do it. They have the capacity to achieve what they want. Don’t oppress them with the thought of your insecurities and intimidation with the opposite sex. These views are presented through phrases such as “women don’t count”, “You play like a girl”, “Didn’t expect it to be a girl”. When will this be gone?

Man or woman, your achievements are limitless. I wait for the day when topics like this do not have to be explained or spoken upon, it can simply just be normality in our day to day lives.
