A MILL Hill woman fighting cancer has created a West End success story in her efforts to raise money for charity.

Danielle Leslie, 39, joined forces with stars of the stage and screen for a gala show at London's Piccadily Theatre on Sunday, October 4, raising an astounding £400,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Ms Leslie, who has secondary breast cancer, said: "We launched 'One More Time' back in June, inspired by the story of my mother and I, and our battle against breast cancer.

"I'm thrilled with the amount of money we've raised, and very proud of what we've achieved. Working on the show has kept me going and goes to show what you can do even when you're ill."

Since the launch, Ms Leslie's mother Sylvie Henry sadly lost her battle with secondary breast cancer, making her West End success particularly poignant for their family and friends.

The performance was the brain child of the mother and daughter team, who founded their own charity Future Dreams last year.

The show boasted a glittering line up of stars who gave their time for free in support of Future Dreams.

Patrick Kielty, Gaby Roslin, Donna Air and Angellica Bell introduced performances from John Partridge, Jonathan Ansell, Ray Quinn, Ruthie Henshall, Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova to name but a few.

The show also gave 36 talented children from across London a once in a lifetime opportunity to share the stage with such exciting talent.

The sell-out audience was treated to surprise messages of support on screen from Girls Aloud, Ant & Dec and Cat Deeley and included Future Dreams supporters Duffy, Gillian Taylforth and Rita Simons.

The night honoured Ms Henry's vision for the show, paid tribute to her life and marked an amazing achievement for Ms Leslie, whose brave fight continues. 'One More Time' followed the successful debut show last year, and once again the money raised went directly to Breakthrough Breast Cancer to fund the charity’s life saving research in to secondary breast cancer.

Chris Askew, Director of Fundraising at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: "Danielle and Sylvie's story is an absolute inspiration to us all. To raise £400,000 in one night is an incredible achievement and I want to thank the Future Dreams team on behalf of everyone at Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

"Breakthrough is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer and the funds raised on Sunday will help us reach this goal."
