A 28-year-old man has been stabbed to death on a Ivybridge estate yesterday, just a few hundred metres from Twickenham Stadium.

The victim, named locally as Sahill Roy, died on Summerwood Road in the Ivybridge estate on Sunday, April 10 at 5.18pm.

A spokesman for the west London Cororner's office said it had recieved the case file for Mr Roy.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in a south London police station, Metropolitan Police said.

Tributes on social media have poured in, with user dZ Smalls - Team Cap saying: "RIP SAHILL can't believe you got took today man I'll see you again soon love you bro  RT to show respect please!"

Smallz Bentley took to Facebook to post a series of tributes to Mr Roy.

He said: "Actually can't believe it's true rest in peace man mad upset I didn't think it was true till I actually went to the estate and see tape everywhere.

"It's getting out of control just fight with your fists.

"The bro is actually gone most calm guy in ends how can it happen to you of all people.

"Just proves it could happen to anyone RIP SAHILL all my love and respect goes to your family.

"Rest up sahill most calmest guy in ends can't believe it's true."

Officers were called at 4.05pm after a man had been stabbed, and London Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service responded as well.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, and police enquiries are ongoing.
