Friends of Sahill Roy - named locally as the victim of a fatal stabbing - have spoken of the shock felt in the community.

Man stabbed to death in Ivy Bridge estate.

The 28-year-old was stabbed to death on a Ivybridge estate yesterday, just a few hundred metres from Twickenham Stadium.

One friend, Perry Bentley, told the Richmond & Twickenham Times: "It's just so painful to know that I will never see his face.

"It didn't feel real when I woke up but then I went on Facebook and realised it wasn't a dream.

"He is the safest guy in Isleworth, never had a problem with anyone.

"He never hyped up to anyone, like he just done his own thing.

"He's missed already by everyone. I went to the estate last night and to even see some of my friends and even my friend's mum crying was a big shock to me."

Terry McGrath, 29, said he grew up with Mr Roy on the estate, and his friend had never had a fight in his life.

He said: “We grew up together.

“He was a lovely guy, the humblest ever.

“I don’t think he had ever had a fight in his life, so I have no idea what could have happened.

“Everyone liked him; it’s such a big loss.

Another man, who did not want to give his name, said: “He [Mr Roy] kept himself to himself. Everybody talks so highly of him.

“My sister went to school with him and said even back then he was just a nice guy."

Mr Bentley also posted on Twitter: "RIP SAHILL can't believe you got took today man I'll see you again soon love you bro  RT to show respect please!"

dZ Erupts replied, saying: "My condolences, nobody deserves that. My prayers for his family, friends and loved ones. RIP Sahill, GBNF"

Smallz Bentley took to Facebook to post a series of tributes to Mr Roy.

He said: "Actually can't believe it's true rest in peace man mad upset I didn't think it was true till I actually went to the estate and see tape everywhere.

"It's getting out of control just fight with your fists.

"The bro is actually gone most calm guy in ends how can it happen to you of all people.

"Just proves it could happen to anyone RIP SAHILL all my love and respect goes to your family.

"Rest up sahill most calmest guy in ends can't believe it's true."

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in a south London police station, Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called at 4.05pm after a man had been stabbed, and London Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service responded as well.
