Sir – Further to your report about the college students running amok around the station, (RTT, October 31) the situation was worse than you reported.
At least two students were throwing fireworks at cars on the corner of London Road.
One driver of a black saloon got out to try and catch the boy who had thrown a firework directly under his wheels, but when he saw the size of the mob streaming all over the road and holding up traffic, he thought better of it and drove off.
Who exactly are these kids who think they can come to our town and cause such havoc? Why do we get lumped with them when they don’t even seem to come from the borough (judging by the vast hordes that come in by train, dropping litter as they go, each morning)?
