Sir – I would like to comment on your recent article "Have your say on Airtrack plans" concerning Heathrow Airtrack.

It is simply incorrect to state that Heathrow Airtrack will route an extra 16 trains an hour through Feltham.

The proposal is two trains per hour in each direction connecting the area with the international airport as well as increased services on the Feltham-Waterloo line.

As mentioned, this will result in less airport-related traffic on roads and job opportunities for up to 60 staff at the planned new depot in Feltham and as many as 70 train drivers.

Some level crossings in the area could be open for less time than they are now and effects on traffic are being examined in conjunction with other road capacity issues.

At this stage, BAA is consulting on the plans and residents have the opportunity to give feedback in a number of ways – see www.heathrowairport.com/airtrack for more details.

In response to feedback already received, we are organising an additional exhibition in the Richmond area which will be advertised on our website and in the media nearer the time.
