Summer is creeping up soon and people are getting excited following the governments update with the roadmap out of lockdown. Given the past year all festivals were cancelled in the summer this might be a big step foward towards the economy but also peoples well being mentally as a sense of normality is brought back again!
Festivals such as Wireless go years back with many famous people such as rappers like Drake, Meek Mill etc. People go to festivals because it brings them joy, happiness which is more than needed during these times.
Adding onto that it seems to be that festivals are blueprint for summer, events gather people together who share many things in common such as music taste.The power of music is an incredibly important and unique tool that aids the human experience.When added to a social gathering where people from all walks of life have come to celebrate this art together, it becomes a force unparalleled to anything else. This force is exactly what people are looking for after such a long time with restrictions.
However plenty of people are divided over its possible for such large numbers to gather after such strict restrictions. People require more certainty from the government, despite the new lockdown-easing roadmap to ensure that they arent being given false hope. But if festivals dont go ahead this summer will people be happy ? or will they be used to it by now?
the route out of lockdown is dependent on coronavirus cases, deaths and hospital admissions continuing to fall. These will be constantly reviewed and a week's notice will be given before full confirmation of each step. Therefore festival goers will just have towait and hopefully be told what they want to hear...
