Despite Covid bringing some firms a great deal of debt, worry and Furlough, a number of businesses have seen their greatest successes in this pandemic.

Industries such as IT, Professional services, and even fitness equiptment have experienced significant benefits in these times, however a less precedented benefit was experienced by a certain newly-formed gluten-free cereal manufacturer.

"London Food Corporation Ltd. was just about setting it's feet in the ground, very close to landing a number of large deals, when Covid hit," says Mr. Premchandani, the managing director.

"We were absolutely devasted, as the retailers concerned in these contracts delayed their plans due to market uncertainties, taking a toll on us completely," he continues.

Then came the first rigid lockdown faced by the UK, shutting down all schools, colleges and major corporates. As the Coronavirus case count rose, so did the UK's desire to bake. So, this cereal business quickly adapted to produce and package flour and baking mixes, facilitating the staggering demand faced by major retailers.

Within the span of just eight weeks, the firm faced a complete capsize, from a company with almost no foresight into the future, to a booming business, working at maximum capacity, all thanks to our nation's bakers.

The technical manager, Mr Constantin Trocaru, suggests that "this was a much needed break for the business, igniting and motivating our entire team to work harder, faster and better."

When it was first bought, Big Oz Industries Ltd. was submerging itself into liquidation, with the new owners bringing the business up from scratch, attempting to make successes with new machinery, advertising techniques and even products as a whole. Their new line of products includes cake mixes, pizza mixes, scone mixes, and all types of flour and much more, going above and beyond the predictions for not only the product range, but the potential scale of production under the brand Big Oz.

So of course, it is important to note the difficulties faced by struggling businesses. However, it is equally important to consider the corporations which made their rags to riches stories in this era of economic disaster, to shape our ideas regarding the weighting of industries in the future.
