In recent months, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the most influential Arsenal player, racking up vital goals for his team and establishing himself as a fan favourite. But in recent weeks, many Arsenal fans have been raising eyebrows at Aubameyang's form, it being consistently off-colour to what they are used to. What could be the reason for this?

Aubameyang currently has 72 goals in 114 appearances. He brought up a half century of Premier League goals for the Gunners in just his 75th appearance, eclipsing Thierry Henry’s record, the legendary Frenchman taking 83 matches to reach his half century. Aubameyang is no doubt one of the best strikers Arsenal has seen. He secured his place in Arsenal fans hearts with a brace in last seasons FA Cup final, also becoming the first African man to ever captain a side in the FA Cup final, with his brace ensuring that it was an appearance which will be forever associated with his name.

However, ever since Aubemayang renewed his contrct at the the start of theis season, or as Arsenal fans like to call it "Signed da ting", he has been unusually lacklustre. This season, he has two goals in 10 matches/898 minutes, one being a penalty and the other being at the very start of the season in a 3-0 win against Fulham. Aubemyang has also missed a fair few chances which is uncharacteristic of him, and as DT from Arsenal Fan TV would say, he has "lost his smile".

There is no doubt the Gabonese striker will return to his form, but at a time Arsenal need him most, he seems to have disappeared..
