Even if you have been living under a rock, you would have heard of the recent coronavirus pandemic; many countries have responded to this by going on lockdown to ensure the safety of its citizens.

What is a lockdown?

A lockdown is when there are restrictions on your daily life. In this instance there are restrictions on food, outdoor entertainment, and fitness.

Just remember that even though you are safe in your own home, keep washing your hands and using antibacterial hand gel to guarantee your safety - germs can last  longer than 17 days.

How to Survive

How productive have you been of this lockdown? Have you made the most of your time on lockdown? If not use the guide to help you achieve the best lockdown possible.

Keeping fit and healthy

Don’t let these four walls stop you from keeping healthy, there are many affordable ways to do exercise inside such as: watching YouTube exercises by fitness experts and doing indoor activities such as aerobics or pilates. Why don’t you even fix the old Wii Sports and give that a try!  Or even try out Zumba and Just Dance!

Dishes?

There are many websites that can help you make exquisite meals during this time of rationing such as MyFridgeFood & SuperCook. Use this situation to become creative with your limited ingredients and try new cuisines.

Don’t forget: We have been ensured by the government that it is vital to avoid panic buying as it leaves the elderly and sick vulnerable, instead buy essentials and think about supporting your local dairy or independent food store.

Entertainment

Stuck at home with Netflix can at first be appealing but after a week, you can slowly become uninterested and exhausted. Below is a list of things to do to avoid that:

Start a new Hobbie. This could be a language or gardening (could help with rationing).

Do a challenge  - There are many dance challenges available especially on apps such as TikTok, there is the 30-day indoor fitness challenge.

Make a fort

Create a google classroom to stay in contact with all your friends and families. You may even find some new international friends!

As these frightening times approach us, make the most of the situation. Have fun, cherish your friends and family and live to the fullest…
