Procrastination is familiar to many students when attempting to complete that one piece of homework you have been putting off or completing some revision for the test you have coming up. Although, it is essential that you are aware of the different ways in which you can spend your time more wisely by being more productive.

A great way of kick starting your productive work schedule is by figuring out what time you are most productive. It is vital that you are aware of when you are most productive and you can evaluate what time of the day is most suited to completing a particular task. If you are most productive in the morning, you may benefit from making a to do list the night before writing down everything you need or would like to get done in the morning. This will save you time in the morning, because you will be able to focus on your first task.

One essential step to becoming more productive is having a clear goal of what you would like to get done. It is advised that you create a to do list of what you would like to get done during the time you have set a side. After you have created a list of everything you would like to get done, get a highlighter or simply star the tasks that are urgent and that are most important. By doing this you are making you clear to yourself what you need to get done and what the next task will be after you complete one. This will allow you to be organised and will result in you using your time effectively, compared to if you chose any task off the list that was not urgent and you may rush or forget about the most important tasks.

Another way you can become more productive is by cancelling out any possible distractions. This may include your phone or a laptop, if there are any devices that are stopping you from completing urgent work then you could turn them off for a set period of time such as an hour to get your task completed instead of you spending longer on one task due to you being distracted by any device.
