It has been a year since Feltham has seen snow, but it has finally fallen. At around 3pm on 22nd January 2019 residents of Feltham got their first glimpse of snow. Temperatures reached extremely low figures, but it was a gorgeous sight to see.

As beautiful as the snow was, unfortunately it didn’t set; however, it was described as ‘magical and majestic’ by Alicia Okusaga. A mixture of rain and snow meant the snow melted at soon as it touched the ground and left puddles of water everywhere. The snow kept on coming and going, each time bringing larger flakes and a colder breeze. Annelise Costa, who lives in Feltham, said ‘I felt like I was frozen to death,’ so don’t forget it is also important to keep warm in the cold weather.

Temperatures are set to rise and fall in the coming weeks with weather warnings for ice already being issued by the Met Office for the next couple of days. When you are leaving the house, make sure to wear a hat, scarf, gloves and warm jacket to avoid getting a cold. It is also important to stay alert while driving and make sure you are safe while walking along icy pavements, so you don’t fall.

So as beautiful and majestic as the snow is, remember to stay safe while having fun and cross your fingers for some lasting snow!
