In his sixth Richmond Parkrun appearance, Carl Assmundson of St Mary’s Richmond AC recorded his fourth win, coming home in an eight second PB of 16:41.
Darren McNeely came in second with a 9 second PB in 17:27 and third place was narrowly taken by youngster James Murdoch (Thames Valley Harriers) in 18:17..
In the ladies' race, West 4 had to settle for second and third place this week as Serpentine Catherine Wilding picked up her first win in two events finishing in 19:30 ahead of West 4 pair of Isobel Rea (19:49) and Alison Brownhill (20:47).
Lastly, in the age graded competition, Lee Coole again took the honours head and shoulders above the rest of the field with 83.5%. James Murdoch narrowly took second from race winner, Carl Assumundson, with 79.31% against Carl’s 79.02%.
This week there were 28 first timers and 32 runners recorded PBs, bringing the total number since the Richmond Park started to 1984. In this time, 2121 runners from 110 different clubs have completed the race 7796 times covering a distance of 38980 kilometers.
The male course record is held by Daniel AGUSTUS who ran 15:59 on 02/05/09, event #81. The female equivalent is held by Susie BUSH who ran 17:14 on 01/11/08, event #55.
