The 21-year-old wing wizard joined Oxford on a 2-year deal from Peterborough for an undisclosed fee. Having played on the fringes of Peterborough United, Potter went to Havant and Waterlooville on loan, where one of his shots against Liverpool deflected off Martin Skrtel, putting the non-league minnows 2-1 up against the Premier League giants. For this feat, he was named 'Player of the Round,' though this was not enough to prevent the North-East side from winning 5-2. He scored 6 goals in over 20 appearances during his loan spell at Oxford United, and also scored on the counter attack against York City in the Blue Square Premier Playoff Final, 2010.
