Hampton & Richmond Borough Charlie Moone has admitted lifting the Ryman Premier League title was the perfect end to his spell at the club.

Moone, who has scored more than 100 goals for the club, confirmed his departure last night after six years with club.

The former Woking frontman had become a bit-part player last term following the arrival and form of Nicke Kabamaba, Brendan Kiernan and Jamal Lowe.

"I wanted to thank each and everyone of you for all your support over what has been a great six years with the club," he told fans on Monday.

"Getting promoted back into the Conference South is the perfect time to say goodbye. I will forever hold onto the many special moments and goals over the years.

"The club is full of so many special people, too many to name, but thank you again for all that you have done for me.

"I wish the club all the luck in the future and will remain a fan."

Heading north: Defender Moussa Diarra has confirmed a switch to National League Premier Barrow

Moone follows players' player of the year Moussa Diarra out of the door after the Frenchman confirmed a switch to National League Premier Barrow at the weekend.

"Signing Moussa was one of the biggest gambles I've ever taken in football, but in the end, it was worth it," said Dowson.

"He could've easily left in the December transfer window, but as we were top by then, I managed to get him to stay until the end of the season.

"He's got his chance to show what he can do at a higher level, and I'm sure we haven't heard the last of Moussa."
