THE Bees are reportedly in talks to sign former Tottenham and Inter Milan playmaker Christian Eriksen.

The 29-year-old is currently a free-agent after he left the Italian side after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.

This decision came after he suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at the Euros last summer.

According to The Athletic, it is believed that Brentford would like to sign the Dane on a short-term contract until the end of the season as well as an option to extend the deal for a further year.

Brentford have struggled with creativity from midfield and have only managed 24 goals in the Premier League this term.

That record is only better than the four bottom sides of the league table.

Last time out Brentford were beaten by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side 3-0 at Anfield, in that game, they only managed one shot on target during the whole game.

If boss Thomas Frank was able to introduce a player of Eriksen's quality to the squad it could help keep them away from the relegation zone.

During his time at Tottenham, Eriksen made over 300 appearances scoring 69 and assisting 90 goals.
