BLUES boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that his squad "looked tired" during their match against Brighton.

Chelsea were unable to get the better of Brighton at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League and were arguably second best for much of the game.

The result meant that it is four games in the league without a win, which has seen Chelsea fall off the pace of the league leaders Manchester City.

Manager Tuchel is giving his players a couple of days off with the hope some recuperation will benefit them.

Tuchel told BT Sport: "We looked tired, and we are.

"We knew they were well prepared, they had more time and less games to prepare.

"You see at the end the reaction of the whistle, the stadium celebrates.

"We need full strength to overcome obstacles. No blame for the team, we tried everything. Mentally and physically tired.

"We need some days off, there’s no other solution."

The Blues play next on Sunday in a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
