Heineken Champions Cup rugby returns to The Stoop on Saturday as Harlequins face Bath.

Quins welcome their West Country opponents in Europe’s elite club rugby competition looking to bounce back from last weekend's heavy 53-21 first round defeat to French giants ASM Clermont Auvergne.

Following the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup, the international stars from both sides have been back training this week and look to be available for selection, including Quins' Joe Marler.

“It was a disappointing result against Clermont,” the loosehead said.

“I was watching the match at home and wasn’t hurting as much as the lads who were out there, but I definitely felt it and can see how hard the boys have taken that.

“We’re disappointed with the account of ourselves that we put out, but we’ve had this week to get back on the horse and prepare for Bath.”

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

After making the semi-finals of last year’s European Challenge Cup, Harlequins will be looking to make their mark in Europe once again.

Alongside Bath, Quins have been placed in Group C with Ulster and Clermont Auvergne who both won on the opening weekend of the competition.

Bath fell to a disappointing 17-16 defeat at The Rec meaning a second loss in the competition for either side at The Stoop on Saturday would all but end their European hopes.

“It’s the first time being back on the top table in a few years,” Marler added.

“It’s great to be back with the big boys.

“We will be going after Bath this weekend at The Stoop to try and keep that European dream alive, because the games come thick and fast.

“We will know in the next few weeks how far that dream is going to go.”

As well as the rugby, The Stoop will provide off-field entertainment as part of the Club’s Movember-themed fixture.

This will include a DJ in the South-West Corner, acoustic musician Owain Pennington in the North Village fan area, a ‘meet the players’ experience in the Club Shop, a pyrotechnic display on the pitch and a live band post-match in the Kings Bar which is open to all supporters.

Both tickets and hospitality are available for all three home pool matches and are available here.
