Millwall’s Adam Barrett couldn’t hide his disappointment after seeing his side surrender a 2-0 lead at Brentford.
The temporary caretaker manager admitted that game management was missing from his Lions as three goals in the final six minutes gave the Griffin Park outfit three points.
Ollie Watkins’ injury time strike completed the turnaround after Josh Dasilva and Bryan Mbeumo had cancelled out Tom Bradshaw and Jed Wallace’s efforts.
“At 2-0 we looked comfortable” Barrett said.
“Extremely disappointed not to get anything from the game, seeing out the game is something we need to do if you’re 2-0 up in this division away from home, you’ve got to se the game out.”
At 2-0 down Thomas Frank introduced Dasilva, who drilled a low long-range left footed effort past the diving Bartosz Bialkowski to give the home fans belief.
“The first goal for me is the one that changes the whole momentum of it,” Barrett admitted.
“Maybe we lacked game management, first one came from a throw in, really disappointed with that.
“One pass and a shot from the edge, that just changed the momentum of the game.
“If you don’t get little set pieces right you get punished.
“It gave them belief.
“The second shot was a wicked deflection and got their tails up.”
The result meant Brentford leapfrogged their opponents up to 13th while Millwall dropped to 17th.
