Ollie Watkins second goal in as many games salvaged a point for Brentford in an error-strewn game against Hull City at Griffin Park.

Jarrod Bowen’s neat finish opened the scoring in the second half before Watkins bundled home a Sergi Canos’ cross with 20minutes to go.

Despite having the lions share of possession Brentford squandered a number of opportunities in a performance lacking the cutting edge associated with Thomas Frank’s side.

The draw leaves the Bees still looking for their first home win of the season whilst opposite number Grant McCann picked up his first point on the road.

Despite an entertaining and end to end opening twenty minutes both sides were unable to manufacture any real opening.

Twenty-five minutes had passed before the first effort on target, Hull’s Kevin Stewart seeing his long range effort tipped over by David Raya.

Sergi Canos and Jarrod Bowen both saw poor efforts easily saved at either end before Brentford’s first fluid passing move should’ve seen Bryan Mbeumo do better with his headed effort from Henrik Dalsgaard’s wicked cross.

The Bees should’ve been ahead two minutes after the break but Ollie Watkins dragged his effort wide after a classy one-two with Mbeumo.

No sooner had Brentford looked like getting a foothold, Hull struck.

On 53minutes the impressive Bowen picked up substitute Leonardo Da Silva Lopes’ clever through ball to rifle past Raya from 12 yards.

Two minutes later Hull should’ve doubled their lead but Raya denied Bowen from 10 yards after a swift counter.

Frank’s side were back on level terms on 73 minutes through Watkins, who bundled home Canos’s cross after some neat play form the newly introduced Josh Dasilva released the Spaniard down the right.

Said Benrahama had a chance with ten minutes to go but George Long saved well at his feet moments after a great one handed save to deny Watkins a second.

Brentford survived a late scare when Grosicki struck a free kick off the post in the 84th minute, before it was Hull's turn to breath a sigh of relief as a penatly appeal for handball was waived away late on.

Brentford went in search for a late winner but efforts from Watkins, Canos and Julian Jeanvier all missed the mark and leaves the red and whites still looking for their first home.
