Amiens striker Saman Ghoddos has agreed a deal to join Brentford, according to sources.
The French Ligue 1 side are believed to have agreed a fee for the Iranian, 25, and the attacker is due to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Griffin Park on Wednesday.
Brentford are thought to have tabled £8million in a bid to replace last season's top scorer Neal Maupay who moved to Brighton earlier this week for a fee of £ 20million.
The Iranian international scored two goals in 18 appearances for his nation and scored four goals and provided four assists in 27 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.
Brentford have seen a number of ins and outs at Griffin Park this season and are hoping to add another forward, along with Ghoddos, to their ranks.
They have seen a bid of around £3million for Charlton striker Lyle Taylor rejected, but are considering returning with an improved offer.
The Bees lost their opening game of the season 1-0, despite dominating possession and chances at home to Birmingham City on Saturday and travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
