Neil Harris said he felt let down by officials after conceding a 90th minute penalty in their 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough.

Millwall took the lead in the first half through a slick counter attacking move finished by Jed Wallace but left the Riverside with just the point after Jordan Hugill’s penalty snatched a point for Boro.

The Lion’s boss believed the decision to award the penalty for Steve Morison's alleged foul on Daniel Ayala cost his side a deserved victory.

“It looks soft,” Harris told the club website.

“If it’s a foul then Moro (Steve Morison) will be the first to put his hands up and tell me, but he hasn’t.

“If that’s a foul, there’ll be a hundred in a game, every time my centre forward goes for a header, it’ll be a foul.

“I’m disappointed.”

The result leaves Millwall 19th in the table, six points above the relegation zone.

Had Millwall got the victory Harris believes they deserved, it would’ve been the side’s second on the road this season.

'Outstanding'

Despite the late drama, the Millwall boss described his side’s performance as ‘outstanding,’ and complimented the new arrivals at the club for their contribution.

Ben Marshall and Ben Thompson both started for the first time this season since signing on loan and being re-called respectively.

Thompson started behind Lee Gregory in 4-4-1-1 formation, as Marshall and Wallace provided width on the flanks.

“It’s probably the best performance of the season,” Harris said.

“Everything from the perform was there, just disappointed with the decision at the end.

“We looked organised, we looked creative and full of energy.

“The three midfielders and wide players, their link up play was excel.

“The build-up, counter attack, use of ball was a s good as I remember.

“It’s a system I wanted to play for a while and they executed the game plan.”
