Brentford manager Thomas Frank says the club aren’t at panic stations having lost five of their last six games.

The lack of fire power for the Bees was evident in their 2-1 defeat Griffin Park which saw them fail to create any clear-cut chances despite dominating possession.

“We just need to work on a bit more quality offensively - finding a better solution,” said manager Frank.

Goals from Jordan Hugill and Nathan Tavernier gave the visitors the points with Alan Judge’s strike serving nothing more than hope of a come-back.

Asked whether he would be looking to add to his attacking options in January, Frank seemed to suggest that there won’t be much movement during the transfer window.

“I think when Said Benrahma and Ollie Watkins are fit we have enough quality and I think every team goes through spells when you are suffering with injuries, and that’s why we have more than 11 players and somebody else needs to step up.”

“We need for maybe Sergi (Canos) or Judgey (Alan Judge) and Neal (Maupay) to step up when we don’t have that fire power to bring on from the bench because Said and Ollie are out.”

Speaking after the defeat the Bees’ manager took the positives from the performance and insisted there is no need to panic.

“We definitely see enough quality and foundation,” said Frank.

“If we should be really worried, we would be totally dominated by Middlesbrough over 90 minutes and we weren’t.

“I think we are in one of those spells where the margin doesn’t quite go our way, but if we continue to work with this heart, work that hard, continue to look at what we can do better, then we will get out of this spell.”
