Hampton & Richmond Borough are flying high after lifting the Ryman Premier Division title in April, prompting comparisons with ex-boss Alan Devonshire’s greats of the past.

But what would a combined team of his and current chief Alan Dowson’s respective National League South challengers look like?

The Richmond & Twickenham Times has a stab.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Matt Lovett (goalkeeper) – Countless top class and match-winning performances. Career cut short by injury.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Josh Casey (left back) – Outstanding at the back, although says he is better suited to midfield.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Moussa Diarra (centre back) – His goals made him a key man at both ends of the pitch last season. Outstanding form last year saw him move to National League Premier Barrow in the summer.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Dean Wells (centre back) – No nonsense defender, whose thirst for battle burned bright. The former Brentford trainee left Hampton to make more than 100 appearances for Basingstoke Town before a switch to League Two Stevenage Borough for whom he has now played nearly 100 matches in the Football League, scoring seven goals.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Graham Harper (right back) – One of the first names on Devonshire’s team sheet and is forging a new career in the game as assistant manager to Kingstonian boss Tommy Williams

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Jamal Lowe (wing) – Tipped by boss Alan Dowson for a move into the Football League this January. Key to last season's Ryman Premier League title triumph and has hit the goal trail early this term.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Harold Odametey (midfield) – Midfield machine in the N’Golo Kante mould. One of Hampton's standout performers so far this term.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Elliot Godfrey (midfield) – Ex-Watford man who was the creative influence in the Devonshire years.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Brendan Kiernan (wing) – The ex-AFC Wimbledon man was a crucial signing last term and is proving his class again this time around.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Lawrence Yaku (striker) – Pace. Goals. Enough said.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Nicke Kabamba (striker) – Makes a perfect foil for Yaku up top and is highly rated by his manager and others in the National League South.

Substitutes:

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Charlie Moone (striker) - Scorer of more than 100 goals for the club, with the vast majority coming in a struggling Ryman Premier Division team. Can't see him forging a partnership with Kabamba, but is definitely an option off the bench.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Alan Inns (Defence/midfield) - Very versatile player who enjoyed huge success at Hampton before moving on to help AFC Wimbledon and Woking lift the National League South title. Now starring at Kingstonian.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Stuart Lake (midfield) - Mr Dependable. Solid performer during two spells with the Beavers, but is best known for his efforts under Alan Devonshire.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Ian Hodges (striker) - Formed a deadly partnership up top with Lawrence Yaku and had more skill than given credit for.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Rob Paris (defender) - Man mountain of a centre half who chipped in with his fair share of important goals.
