Building Blocks Childcare is among the very best early years settings in the UK, scooping a top accolade at the National Day Nurseries Association Nursery Awards.
The nursery in Teddington won South England Nursery of the Year, triumphing above scores of other entrants to win the prestigious title – presented by TV star and maths legend Johnny Ball.
The NDNA Nursery Awards, sponsored by early years resource provider Hope Education, were announced at a glittering ceremony at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.
The event was attended by the cream of the nursery sector and followed NDNA’s day-long annual conference.
The expert judging panel was impressed with how the staff team enhanced natural developmental processes through fun-filled sensory play, interactive puppet shows and a focus on child engagement, which promotes the children to have a lifelong thirst for knowledge and love of learning.
The Nursery of the Year category and overall awards were sponsored by Hope Education.
Commenting on the honour, Clare Ford, Senior Coordinator said: “As you can imagine we are completely overwhelmed with the recognition our amazing nursery has received.
“Having managed Teddington for almost 10 years I couldn't be prouder of the fantastic individuals that form our team and their tireless efforts towards building foundations for our children's bright futures.”
Families whose children attend nurseries also contributed to the judging process by voting for their setting, making the awards the true ‘parents’ choice’.
D-Dee’s Day Nursery in Kent was runner-up in the category and Westchester House Nursery in Surrey was highly commended.
