Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling lead a star-studded cast as Barbie finally hits cinemas in the UK- but where have you seen them before?

Greta Gerwig's highly anticipated movie comes out on July 21 and Barbiemania is well and truly coming for us all. 

From enormous brand collaborations to the fever dream that is Barbenheimer, the film is chock full of Ken-ergy (yes we really said that).

With an impressive 90% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, Barbie is predicted to make $110 million on its opening weekend in the North American box office, Forbes reports.

Margot Robbie plays Barbie herself with the story following her identity crisis as she wrestles with major questions about the world around her and her existence.

Fans will recognise the Australian actress from her roles in I, Tonya, The Wolf of Wall Street, Bombshell, Suicide Squad and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Who is Barbie without her Ken? Just kidding, he's just Ken. But in the 2023 movie, he's played by Canadian actor Ryan Gosling. 

Gosling has starred in both major studio and independent films but is perhaps best known for his roles in The Notebook, La La Land, Drive, Half Nelson, Crazy Stupid Love and Blade Runner 2049.

The film is jam-packed with different Barbies and Kens including Netflix's Sex Education stars Emma Mackey (Physicist Barbie), Ncuti Gatwa (Ken #4) and Connor Swindells (Aaron Dinkins).

Alexandra Shipp (The Princess of R&B, Straight Outta Compton), Issa Rae (Insecure, Vengeance), Hari Nef (Transparent, Assassination Nation) and singer Dua Lipa all appear as different Barbies.

Joining them as Kens are Canadian actor Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ring, Kim's Convenience), Scott Evans (Grace and Frankie, With Love) and professional wrestler and actor John Cena as Mermaid Ken.

Comedic actor Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Elf, Step Brothers) will portray the CEO of Mattel.

Alan will be played by Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Arrested Development, Juno).

Meanwhile, Emerald Fennell (Call the Midwife) will star as Barbie's best friend Midge and America Ferrera (Ugly Betty, Superstore) stars as a Mattel employee in the real world.

To reflect Barbie's over 200 careers, Kate McKinnon is Weird Barbie (Saturday Night Live, Ghostbusters, Bombshell), Ana Cruz Kayne (Painkiller, Another Earth) is Judge Barbie, Ritu Arya (Umbrella Academy, Red Notice) is Journalist Barbie, Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls) is Diplomat Barbie and Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary, Two Doors Down) as Lawyer Barbie.

Dame Helen Mirren is set to play The Narrator and even Gavin and Stacey star Rob Brydon and Love Island contestant Chris Taylor make appearances in the film.
