A 38-year-old man who “upskirted” a woman at a London Underground station has been fined £2,000.

Hiroshi Yuasa was spotted crouching behind the victim at Victoria Tube station in April 2018, taking a photograph up her skirt with his mobile phone.

Police who investigated then found several photographs and videos of women, “ranging from pictures of the face as well as pictures up the skirts”, and he was charged with outraging public decency, court documents said.

Yuasa, whose address was given as a flat in Belgravia Court, Ebury Street, central London, was fined at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday and told to pay £400 compensation to his victim.

He was also told to pay a £170 victim surcharge and £400 prosecution costs, a court staff member said.

The charge said: “It was reported that you were observed crouched down behind a female passenger with your hand extended under her skirt taking a photograph with your mobile phone.”
