The owners of the Cabbage Patch have been ordered to remove an illuminated sign, installed during recent refurbishment works, following complaints from residents.
There was no advert consent for the PATCH Nightclub sign, breaching of the Town and Country planning Act 1990.
A council spokesman said: “The council became aware that an unauthorised illuminated sign has been installed on the front of the Cabbage Patch in Twickenham, following a number of complaints from local residents.
“Consequently, we have informed the owners that they are required to remove the unauthorised sign by Monday, February 20.”
Twickenham resident Tom Hautot wrote to the owners and the council to ask for the removal of the sign.
He said: “I find this completely out of character with the surrounding area and quite disturbing. The overall decoration of the pub is quite pleasing with traditional style lettering.”
