richmond: Wild parakeets have been making merry in Richmond and Bushey Parks recently, some of up to 3,000 Rose-Ringed Parakeets in London.

The birds originated in Asia and are probably descendants of birds that escaped or were released into the wild in the 1950s and 1960s.

Their favourite hangout is south London but there are also small colonies in east London and north Kent.

hanworth: A police investigation is underway after a suspicious car fire in Hanworth on Easter Monday.

Twickenham Fire Brigade was called to Bear Road just before 11.30pm after a fire was started in the passenger compartment of a C-reg Toyota saloon.

Joy riders are believed to be responsible for the fire which caused severe damage.

whitton: Budding chefs at St Edmund's RC Primary School in Whitton received participated in their own master class last week to learn the secrets of making chocolate Easter eggs.

The master class was overseen by the Craft Guild of Chefs.

As well as getting to grips with chocolate, the year six pupils also had a chance to mould Easter eggs out of papier mache.
