High street store, Wilkinson, has partnered with local Heston Community Allotment to donate a range of gardening equipment to the project.

The Hounslow store, located within The Treaty Centre, will be donating gardening equipment, along with “Grow your Own” seeds to the community-run allotment. The project, which began in June 2010, is operating across the London Borough of Hounslow, and community groups, schools and young adults are involved in the allotment.

Wilkinson store manager, Lyn Wathens comments: “We’re delighted to link up with the Heston Community Allotment scheme. We think it’s very important to bring a real sense of local community spirit with our store, and if the equipment can benefit Hounslow’s environment’s future, then it’s a worthwhile cause.”

The store reopens with a fresh new look this Thursday 10th February.

Henry Montgomery-Smith and Matthew Orishagona Grasshoppers Rugby Club will officially cut the ribbon alongside, The Worshipful The Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow, Councillor Colin Ellar, the store manager and Wilkinson’s Head of Business Transformation, Robin Lassiter.

On the day, there will be a live demonstration of the new Clairol “Nice ‘n’ Easy” hair colourant, and customers will be presented with a £2 money-off voucher to redeem when purchasing the product. Wilkinson will continue its week of celebrations with a “Family Fun Day” on Saturday 12th February, featuring a free face painter for local children.
