Former Hampton councillor Dee Doocey proudly showed off her ermine trimmed red gown as she dressed up for her formal welcoming into the House of Lords.

The newly made Baroness Doocey, was named on David Cameron’s peers list in November but officially sworn in on December 23, after having had a successful career in politics which included being Hampton councillor for eight years and representing the Liberal Democrats on the London Assembly.

Baroness Doocey said: “I regard membership of the House of Lords as a job of work as well as an honour. I shall continue to work for Londoners, raising similar issues to those I raised in the London Assembly, in particular making the police more accountable to the people they serve, helping secure a better deal for people with disabilities, and helping the most disadvantaged in our society, especially the unacceptably large number of children who are living in poverty.”
