POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal hit and run incident in Isleworth in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Jamie Sessions, 33, from Edinburgh Road, Hanwell, was walking along Ruskin Road at around 1.30am when a white van turned off Morris Road, mounted the footpath and knocked him down. The van stopped briefly before driving away.

Residents alerted the emergency services but Jamie was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem has since been carried out, revealing that he died from multiple injuries.

The abandoned van was later found by police at 3.35am on Church Street, at the junction with Park Road, and was taken away for forensic examination.

One man, who lives near the scene, said: "I had gone to bed when I heard a really loud crash. My mum went outside and was shouting.

"She came back in and I heard her talking on the phone.

"There was something curled up in the gutter. I thought it was a bag at first. He was dead when I reached him. One of his shoes had been knocked off."

A man attended a local police station following the accident and is now helping the police with their inquiries.

Police are now asking more witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information about the accident should contact the officers at Hampton traffic unit on 020 8247 6935.
