A 23-YEAR old man was kicked down stairs by a gang of robbers who attacked him on a Richmond railway footbridge.

The victim was crossing the footbridge which crosses the railway line from Sheendale Road to St Mary's Grove in Richmond on Monday January 20th at 8.30am when three robbers walked past him.

As they approached they said 'what are you looking at.'

As he neared the steps to walk off the footbridge he was kicked in the small of the back, causing him to fall down the stairs.

He was then hit one from behind before being turned over and hit once in the chest.

The robbers then searched his pockets and took his mobile phone worth £100 and his wallet containing £20 cash. The victim declined the medical attention offered to him.

The first robber is described as an 18-year old black male, 5ft 11ins tall, wearing black trousers and a baseball cap.

The second robber was a 16-year old white male, 5ft 8ins tall wearing sports clothing and a baseball cap.

The third was a 16-year old white male, 5ft 7ins tall wearing sports clothing and a baseball cap. The victim said he had noticed that the black male was dressed particularly smartly in comparison to the other two.
