A man who was caught with sexual images of a 17-year-old girl has been sentenced.
James Winston Green, 45, pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing indecent photographs of a child.
This relates to 49 sexual images of a girl who he communicated with on Snapchat last year.
In UK law, people can legally consent to sexual activity from 16, but it remains a criminal offence to take, make, possess or share indecent images of anyone under 18.
On June 26, Green was sentenced at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court to one year in custody suspended for two years.
In her impact statement, the teenage victim said she feels regret about what she sent and “disgust” towards Green.
She said: “I feel like my life has split into a time before Jimmy, where I was happy, and a time after Jimmy.
“It feels like my life before Jimmy has gone and now I’m trying to rebuild it.”
Green, from West Ewell, was also made the subject of a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The order includes monitoring of his internet use and bans on engaging in sexual communication with anyone under 18 or being alone with any female under 18 without the knowledge of their parent.
