A skin-cancer screening and mole-check provider is opening a new clinic in Richmond.

The Mole Clinic, an independent UK provider in early skin cancer detection, is launching the centre on Monday, January 26 to improve access to screening at a time when melanoma rates continue to rise.

Annie Meharg, chief executive officer of The Mole Clinic, said: "Richmond is the natural next step for us. People need to treat skin checks in the same way they treat dental check-ups – as a routine, essential part of staying healthy.

"Too many delay getting a mole checked because they’re busy, unsure, or can’t access an appointment quickly. We’re on a mission to remove those barriers and make expert skin screening fast, accessible, and normal for everyone."

The clinic will offer same-day and next-day appointments, full-body mole mapping, dermoscopy, and fast-track referrals to dermatologists and surgeons.

Dr David Veitch, consultant dermatologist at The Mole Clinic, said: "Early detection is absolutely critical – when caught at an early stage, treatment is simpler, outcomes are far better, and lives are saved. Regular skin checks are not optional; they should be a routine part of everyone’s healthcare."

The clinic will also run community awareness events throughout the year, promoting sun safety and self-checking.
