The CQC praised the home for its safety, responsiveness, effectiveness and leadership, noting the positive environment created by its staff.

"This rating reflects our belief that care should make people feel safe, valued and good about life.

"We will continue to build on the gains and ensure the home continues to be a vibrant place, connected with our Richmond community."

The home had previously been rated "requires improvement" in 2023, prompting significant changes.

These included new management and senior staff, additional training, improved care planning, and a renewed focus on delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

The CQC report highlighted a warm, inclusive environment where residents feel respected, heard, and well supported.

Viera Gray House provides residential and dementia care and is currently ranked as the top not-for-profit care home in Richmond, according to independent reviews on Carehome.co.uk.

As part of Greensleeves Care, the home also offers a 'Home for Life' guarantee, ensuring that no resident will be asked to leave if they run out of funds while in care.
