Two police officers are due to appear in court accused of assaulting a 16-year-old boy.
Pc Sevda Gonen, 28, is charged with two counts of assault by beating and Pc Stuart Price, aged 32, faces one count of the same offence.
They are set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The charges relate to an incident on November 14 when the officers were transporting the 16-year-old to hospital for a mental health assessment.
Watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said the constables are accused of using unlawful force when searching him, and Mr Gonen faces the second charge for allegedly slapping the boy’s face and pulling his hair.
The Metropolitan Police made a mandatory referral to the IOPC in December 2023, and the watchdog passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service in April.
