Andy Scott has told his players it ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it' after opening the pre-season campaign with two defeats.

The Bees boss unveiled eight new summer signings in the 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Friday, which preceded Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat at Blue Square South side Bromley.

The two games have seen new boys Ben Hamer, Leigh Mills, Marcus Bean, Marvin Williams, Sam Wood, Moses Ademola, Charlie MacDonald and Adam Newton have all been bedded in over the last 10 days.

Brentford struggled to create clear-cut chances in Kent midweek and were outplayed in the second-half by the Championship Tractor Boys.

But Scott insists his boys are still finding their feet in terms of fitness and is expecting big improvements for tomorrow's trip to AFC Wimbledon.

"There have been some positives in terms of fitness but there are clearly some things we still need to work on," he said.

"The most important thing for me is to see us playing the way I want us to play and not necessarily look at results at this stage of the game.

"AFC are another tough, good footballing side and that is the sort of game we need. Bromley will be there or there abouts in their league and I expect Wimbledon to be the same.

"We haven't got the biggest squad and I don't want to push the players through 90 minutes too early, so there will still be some playing about with the line-up.

"The games are as much a part of their fitness work as the sessions we do on the training pitch and that is how things have been designed this summer."
