The Dartford Crossing is a major road crossing of the Thames, carrying the A282 road between Dartford in Kent in the south and Thurrock in Essex in the north.

As the crossing is such a vital road, it can get very congested with lots of traffic during peak times and this can increase the chances of a crash occurring.

86 of the crashes involved a young driver, and 55 involved a motorcyclist.

136 of all crashes involved a goods vehicle, rather than just a car.

The data for 2022 is not yet available, but in 2021 there were 51 crashes in this specific area.
