The fire brigade was called to reports of a house fire in Bexley.
Four fire engines and 25 firefighters had reported to Dorchester Avenue yesterday (January 14) at 1.36pm.
The Brigade had tackled the fire in a two-storey mid-terraced house, where a "large part" of the first floor was damaged.
One woman and a child left the house before emergency services arrived.
They were both treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by London Ambulance Service.
The fire was under control by 3.09pm.
Fire crews from Sidcup, Bexley and Erith fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation, according to London Fire Brigade (LFB).
In a statement, LFB said:” Four fire engines and 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Dorchester Avenue in Bexley.
“Firefighters tackled a fire in a two-storey mid-terraced house where a large part of the first floor was damaged by the fire.
“One woman and child left the house before the Brigade arrived.
“They were both treated for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews at the scene.
“The Brigade was called at 1336 and the fire was under control by 1509.
“Fire crews from Sidcup, Bexley and Erith fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
