70 firefighters were called to a blaze at a refuse transfer station where around 100 tonnes of waste was alight on Sunday.
The London Fire Brigade were called to Townmead Road in Richmond upon Thames at around 8.43 pm on June 20.
Fire crews from Richmond, Hammersmith,Wandsworth and other surrounding fire stations rushed to the scene.
It has been confirmed that there were no injuries. The fire was under control by 11.24pm.
Firefighters remained at the scene throughout the night to dampen down the area.
Residents were advised to continue to keep their windows and doors shut due to the smoke.
Council authorities have since confirmed that the recyling centre will be closed until further notice.
In a post on Twitter, Richmond Council said: "Due to a major fire last night @CentreTownmead [ Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre ] will be closed until further notice.
"If you have a booking you will be contacted about rescheduling.
"Thanks to London Fire Brigade for their quick response."
The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Brigade.
