A PLANNING application has been lodged that would see the demolition of two homes in the village of Hayton.
Applicants, Mr and Mrs Sowerby have applied for permission to demolish 6 and 7 East End Cottages in Hayton, Aspatria. The homes would then be replaced with two new homes.
A planning statement said there was “nothing remarkable or unusual” about the houses, and an attached barn was in a “compromised state and requires demolition.”
The application proposes to replace 6 and 7 East End with two bespoke designed properties.
The statement added: “The proposed development will improve a site which has been subject to a lack of investment and bring about new development.
"The proposed dwellings will introduce a contemporary feature into the village, whilst referencing more traditional materials.”
