A cottage in a sought-after village is set to go under the hammer next month.
Magdalen Cottage, in Main Road, Wormingford, is going under the hammer at Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
It is being offered with a freehold guide price of just £200,000 at the firm’s auction which ends on Wednesday, May 5.
It is among 135 lots being sold at the online-only auction.
Regional Director and Auctioneer Paul Bridgeman said: “It looks a snip at this amount in a village where Zoopla puts the average 2021 property price at £418,800, but we wait to see what happens at the auction.
“I am certain Magdalen Cottage, which possibly we would call pink or salmon coloured but which certainly stands out, will prove popular, being situated on the outskirts of Wormingford and surrounded by countryside and farmland.
“You can embrace rural life and River Stour walks, but always know Colchester is just six miles south east with its high street shopping, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and recreational facilities.”
The online auction ends on Wednesday May 5.
