An amateur photographer has been taking his camera to the skies to capture spectacular birds eye shots of Watford.

Jamie, who has lived in Watford his whole life, first stated taking his awe-inspiring shots in May of last year.

He post his pictures to his Instagram page @WatfordFromAbove.

“I started mainly because of lockdown, it was just out of curiosity really”, he explained.

His photos show a new perspective of Watford, one not many get to see.

“Before I started taking photos, the first time I flew it was in the back garden of my dad’s house. I just flew it up and seeing the view of the council estate, it just made it look completely different.”

That moment inspired Jamie to start taking take birds-eye-view shots of his hometown.

“People have been stuck in doors for so long, even when you go out for your exercise you can just see what you always see”, he said.

“When you fly up, the views you get are just unreal. You can just see so much and get a different perspective of everything.”

He says he loves all the shots he has taken, but at a push reckons his best is of Langleybury Church - see for yourself.
