Staff and children at an Oswestry school have marked Harvest this year with a large donation to the town’s foodbank.

Woodside School showed their support for Oswestry and Borders Foodbank with the donation of 22 boxes of food.

Each year, families of the pupils at Woodside kindly donate food as part of the school’s Harvest celebrations.

Headteacher Claire Bennett was overwhelmed with the amount of food collected this year.

She said: “With 2020 being a particularly difficult year for everyone, staff and families alike wanted to do something to support those people in our community who are in need.

“We traditionally collect donations of food for Oswestry Foodbank as part of Harvest in school but we were overwhelmed by the amount donated this year.”

As well as donations of food from families, staff made donations of shower and sanitary products.
