A YELLOW weather warning for rain has been issued across London.

The Met Office alert spans the entire of London and South East England, from 5am on Sunday until 10am the same day.

Brits can expect a wet and windy start to their Sunday morning (November 15), with torrential rain set to hit parts of the country.

Forecasters have also warned that downpours could flood roads and homes tomorrow morning.

A Met Office spokesman said: "A further spell of rain, some of it heavy, is expected on Sunday morning.

"This will bring rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm quite widely with some locations seeing as much as 30 to 35 mm.

"As much of this rain is expected to fall within a few hours, localised flooding of a few properties and roads is likely to result, the latter along with spray may lead to longer journey times."

He warned that the rainfall may result in:

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
