A Richmond GP surgery is supporting the poppy appeal by asking residents to colour in poppies for display at their practice.

The Vineyard Surgery hopes to show support for Richmond’s Poppy Factory, which employs and supports many of its patients, while bringing the community together in a time of crisis.

Many of Richmond’s residents enjoyed participating in the project, including patients, staff, local care homes, nurseries and the postal service.

GP, Dr Dawson, is encouraging residents to use to use their lockdown exercise time to walk past the surgery, admire the poppies and perhaps to colour in one of their own.

“Getting creative and staying active are excellent ways of boosting your mental and physical health during this difficult time,” she said.

You can download a template from the Royal British Legion website and colour, draw, paint, or glitter your poppy.

Participants are asked to donate what they can and drop off their poppy to a box outside the surgery.
