A man has died after a crash in Tilbury.
The crash, which involved a lorry and a van, took place on the A1089 Dock Approach Road earlier today (Monday September 21).
A passenger in the van, a man in his twenties, died as a result of his injuries at the scene and the driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers from Essex Police have worked to update both their families.
The team now have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink. He remains in custody for questioning.
The Dock Approach Road remains shut out of Tilbury.
A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to call our Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting incident 764 of 21/09.
