A person decided to walk home from work on a busy motorway during the early hours, police have said.
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit tweeted that it was dealing with a pedestrian on the M1 between junctions 8 and 9 at around 1.30am this morning (September 18).
The person told officers that they were walking home from work because their shift finished early, police said.
The pedestrian was issued a ticket as a result.
RP31 - We are currently dealing with a pedestrian on the carriageway between J8 & 9 M1. Walking home from work because your shift finished early is not an excuse.

Ticket issued. It causes unnecessary risk and delays to other road users.
